Adrian is the Chief Executive Officer of Quantas Financial Group, the Caribbean’s newest alternative asset management business. Dr. Stokes is an accomplished senior business executive with over 17 years of experience in Jamaica and the Caribbean. Prior to Quantas, Dr. Stokes previously served as a Senior Executive at Scotia Group Jamaica where he had oversight responsibility for the daily operations of Scotia Investments Jamaica and Scotia Jamaica Life Insurance, two of Scotiabank’s largest and most profitable companies. In this capacity, he was charged with managing all aspects of operations, including devising and executing business strategies, developing a high performance team, and developing and launching insurance and fund management products.
Adrian started his career at JMMB as a Trader of Emerging Market Bonds, US interest rate derivatives, and US Credit Derivatives. He has extensive experience in market risk management having led the formation of Scotiabank’s Market Risk Management team across the English Caribbean as well as significant knowledge in Corporate Strategy, Business Analytics and Asset Pricing having held senior leadership roles in these areas.
Dr. Stokes is a former Commonwealth Scholar at the Manchester Business School where he completed a PhD with an emphasis on Asset Pricing. He was recently appointed Chairman of the Government of Jamaica Education Transformation Oversight Committee. Adrian also serves as a Director of the Development Bank of Jamaica, a past Vice President of the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica, and past Chairman of the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica’s (PSOJ) economic policy committee.
